A sinful autumn melt

September 17, 2016

There are rare mornings. Saturday mornings. When your body wakes-up without alarm intrusion and is finally not in time’s debt. When you stop for a moment and breathe-in the autumn freshness coming through the window. And realize, something has shifted. Inside and around you. A good feeling when you just know you need to slow down a bit, sit down and talk to yourself, find that little peace inside that was wasted through the frenetic summer days. You escape the city again. This time – to Druskininkai, a southern Lithuanian spa town near the Nemunas River, where  you can enjoy not only peaceful walks (or runs) in surrounding nature, or active indoors skiing or biking holidays,  but also experience a simple morning glory  with a cup of rather decent home-roasted coffee at Coffee INN Druskininkai (http://coffee-inn.com/). However, the hit to mention here is not the coffee, but…their home baked #croissants, which are amongst the very best suggested by lithuanian Coffee makers. Its smooth, you feel the the soft butter in the texture and crispy crust just melts as soon as the bite falls in your mouth. The taste is good in a way you could finish your croissant in 2 bites, but you want to slow down and enjoy it in slow motion. Of course it is not the french perfection, but we are very close 🙂 Accompany your coffee cup with it and I am sure you will not be disappointed. NB! You need to be sure, they are home-baked by Coffee INN and not just provided by other bakeries. All in all – sinful saturday delight, worth a foodventure.
