Crumble it baby!

September 4, 2021

Hello weekend! The sligtly chilly mornings are a little reminder that a season really shifted. And even though a mid-day sun & blue sky is still there, I took my cardigan out today 🙂 Yes, Autumn is breathing just arround the corner.

I love Autumn though. I love that change in the air, the harvesting and full nature, giving all the best after almost caribean summer.

Season is a gift itself, all you need is to be open & to explore all it has to offer. And Autumn has a lot to offer when it comes to inspiration for the seasonal kitchen!

It is truly amazing, when you opt for a seasonal cooking, you don’t need to bother much about the strict recipes! You just pass by your closest local market or even better – by your grandma’s garden, and check what harvest is on the table and what your eyes & nose are atracted to the most! And then – improvization & creative cooking happens 🙂

Yes, it is always “safer” with a recipe, however the great pleasure of discovering your own fusion happens only through a relaxed, atentive and self-confident experiment.

Today my “experiment” was simple, healthy & comforting. You just can’t fail with a seasonal fruit crumble!

My variation

I prepared mine by filling full tin with sliced fresh & local apples, plums & some raspberries, stirring it well with fresh local honey, amazing fusion of warming spice (green cardamon, cinamon, few cloves!), glass of chopped almonds, glass of wholegrain oat flakes, half glass of almond flour. I mixed it all, sprinkled ghuee & coconut butter (you could use simple butter too) on top and put it on the 180-190 °C oven for 50-60 minutes. Served with vegan Ben&Jerry icecream!

Happy to share & would love to hear about your autumn variation!
