Sundays are sacred. In our busy lives even more sacred. Quality time spent with the beloved ones while sharing magical bit on the plate is a guarantee for a good start of the new week. Not counting time, nor worrying about the future or regretting the past. Just living the moment. And this time – in a Lithuanian port city Klaipeda at a wonderful family-style restaurant Monai (https://www.facebook.com/monai.restoranas/) run by one of the best Lithuanian chefs Vytautas Samavicius (awarded as best Lithuanian chef in 2008) in the heart of the old town. The atmosphere gets you with cozy scandinavian minimalist interior details and pastel colours just the moment you walk in. The feeling is just like you would have gone from your own bedroom to your own kitchen, only that you don’t need to bother about cooking and just watch the whole process of the energetic chefs spinning plates in kitchen with huge windows. Staff is so peaceful and friendly offering you as much details as you want regarding the menu. About the menu..it is also solidly minimalist and crystal clear, not overloaded with bunch of the fancy vocabulary of haute cuisine. Food looks and tastes just perfect! Fresh ingredients and well balanced taste.
Variation of Eggs Benedict is a specialty and must try! Home made hollandaise is a knock-out and just melts in your mouth!
Home-made ravioli with ricotta speak for itself as well 🙂
Not speaking of delicious home-made panna cotta! And oh…they have much more in their menu a la carte worth coming back for. Reservation is a must! Looking forward for another visit.
