Amour cucré at Sugamour

There are plenty words defining Love. The word itself is a reflection of sweetness, warmth, passion and something that you just can’t get enough. These are the emotions that you are immediately fulfilled when you enter in a  at first glance posh but even more solid desert-boutique Sugamour, opened in the Vokieciu street in Vilnius old town. This is a special place where you can get a real glimpse of a Parisian gastronomic fashion in Lithuania, feel that particular attention and care to every detail, sincerity and dedication to art in creating a gastronomic sculpture on a plate. This place is absolutely worth the boutique definition. Sugamour offers a  wide selection of carefully prepared dessert masterpieces to eat in and also take away or for pre-orders. The important part here is  – that they do not only look fabulous under the chic vitrine,  but also have a spectacular and balanced taste. When you see all those colours and various shapes you can easily get dizzy even from looking at it 🙂 At it is so nice to have that special petit gâteau that is just perfect for you and you miss it during the week . My personal favourite is a mango passion fruit one.

More importantly, Sugamour goes far beyond sugar. The brunch here is served until 4 p.m. (!) – just like in Paris and the variety of dished that is offered is exceptional compared to other sunday brunch places in Vilnius. First of all, they offer actually 4 kinds of egg Benedict (Pasifico – with salted salmon, goats cheese cream, Classical – with ham and hollandaise sauce, Italian – with mozzarella and pesto, Florentine – with spinach, great “lithuanian parmigiano” cheese Dziugas and hollandaise). Not to mention french omelets and quiches! You also get a home-made brioche bread along with your egg dishes.

But if you are not a big fan of eggs and fancy a skinny and healthy brunch – you are offered a quinoa porridge with baked vegetables and avocado, or oats porridge boiled in almond milk with chia seeds, honey or home-made granola. If you are a lover of pancakes – this is the only place in Vilnius to serve Crêpe Suzette (!).

So even if you are a picky tourist or a gourmet snob – I am pretty certain you could fall in love.

Not to forget ‘small details’ like beverages – they have wonderful selection of tea cocktails created by chefs and prepare aeropress and chemex coffee.

And all the applause go to the the owner and mover of the place Mrs Laura Normantiene and the head chef Jekaterina Buldakova!

Must visit when in town!
